[Download] Macon Hamilton - Dos Equis

As I am sure you are all aware, the Dos Equis ?Most Interesting Man In The World? has done plenty of otherworldly things, but I doubt he could make a hip-hop record as dope as Macon Hamilton. While the Georgia native is only 17, which means he isn?t of legal age to drink the Mexican beer, he does kick back with a figurative cerveza or two thanks to the smooth production of No Sleep, which is centered around a chill, bluesy guitar riff. As the beat glides, Macon impresses with a laid back flow and some very colorful, grown-mans wordplay with lines like ?We go together like Stevie Wonder and T.V?s.? and ?Top heads like snapbacks.? just to name a few of many. Is Macon?s effort top-shelf, or is it more Keystone Light than craft beer? Let us know below, and be on the lookout for more from Macon, as he plans to release a song every week in 2013 and has a EP, Jesus Christ Im Nice, set to drop later this month.

Obama urges 'balanced approach' on debt

WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama Saturday renewed his call for a "balanced approach" to reducing the federal debt, saying "we can't just cut our way to prosperity."

In his weekly radio and Internet address, the president reminded listeners his plan for "reigniting the true engine of America's economic growth -- a rising, thriving middle class," involves bringing good jobs to America, making sure U.S. workers are skilled and making sure "hard work leads to a decent living."

"I believe all that starts by making America a magnet for new jobs and manufacturing," he said. "After shedding jobs for more than 10 years, our manufacturers have added about 500,000 jobs over the past three. What we need to do now is simple. We need to accelerate that trend."

Obama once again called for establishing "manufacturing hubs across the country that will transform hard-hit regions into global centers of high-tech jobs and manufacturing."

The president called once again for tax code reform, to reward businesses that create jobs in the United States and do away with tax breaks for companies that "ship jobs overseas."

"And we need to invest in the research and technology that will allow us to harness more of our own energy and put more people back to work repairing our crumbling roads and bridges," he said.

Obama repeated his call for a higher minimum wage.

"These steps will help grow our economy and rebuild a rising, thriving middle class," the president said. "And we can do it while shrinking our deficits. We don't have to choose between the two -- we just have to make smart choices."

Obama said Democrats and Republicans in Washington have reduced the federal deficit by more than $2.5 trillion during the past two years, "which puts us more than halfway towards the goal of $4 trillion in deficit reduction that economists say we need to stabilize our finances."

He argued against further cuts in education and job training or Medicare and Social Security benefits.

"That won't work," the president said. "We can't just cut our way to prosperity.

"Instead, I've proposed a balanced approach; one that makes responsible reforms to bring down the cost of health care and saves hundreds of billions of dollars by getting rid of tax loopholes and deductions for the well-off and well-connected," he said. "And we should finally pursue bipartisan, comprehensive tax reform that encourages job creation and helps bring down the deficit."

Pistorius, slain girlfriend had planned future, uncle says

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - It was billed as a fitting tribute to "an intelligent, beautiful and amazing woman" but the airing of a Caribbean reality TV show featuring the girlfriend of Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius two days after she was shot dead has upset some South Africans.

In particular, women's rights activists criticized an edited clip at the start of Saturday night's 'Tropika Island of Treasure' in which law graduate and model Reeva Steenkamp talks about her "exit".

"I think that the way you go out, not just your journey in life but the way that you go out and you make your exit is so important," she says, leaning against a palm tree in a pre-recorded interview on the show's set in Jamaica.

At the end of the tribute, presumably recorded when she was voted off the show, she blows kisses to the camera and says: "I'm going to miss you all so much. I love you very, very much."

Pistorius was charged on Friday with murdering Steenkamp in the early hours of the previous day, although his family have denied the charge. Initial reports said Pistorius may have mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder.

Rachel Jewkes, a gender and health researcher at the South African Medical Research Council (MRC), said the clips were particularly insensitive in a country where a woman is estimated to be killed by her partner every eight hours.

"There was a big question about whether it should have been shown at all, or whether they were trying to get audience ratings off the fact she had died," Jewkes said.

"These sort of quotes don't make you feel any better about the suggestion they are exploiting her death."

Show producer Samantha Moon said the decision to air the program on Saturday as scheduled was difficult but ultimately she wanted to share the "special memories" of Steenkamp.

"Reeva was an intelligent, beautiful and amazing woman, and we feel it would be an injustice to keep that unknown from those who did not know her personally," Moon said.

Steenkamp, who was shot in the head, hand, chest and hip, according to domestic media reports, will be buried on Tuesday.

Many South Africans thought the decision not to delay the show until after the funeral was wrong.

"It was very insensitive to put it on air before she was even buried," said 30-year-old insurance consultant Montle Ndlovu. "It's such a sad story. She was young and pretty and had her whole life in front of her."

"NO SPECIAL TREATMENT"

The downfall of Pistorius, the first double amputee to run in the Olympics, has sent shockwaves through South Africa, where many saw him as a rare example of a hero who transcended the racial divides that linger in Nelson Mandela's "Rainbow Nation".

But the killing of Steenkamp has once again put a harsh spotlight on South Africa's frighteningly high levels of violence against women.

The country is still reeling from the murder this month of 17-year-old Anene Booysen, who was gang-raped, mutilated and left for dead on a building site.

Although sexual crime is all too common - on average a woman is raped every four minutes - the similarities to the murder of a New Delhi woman that triggered protests in India gave birth to an "Enough is Enough" campaign to halt the violence against women endemic in South African society.

The ruling African National Congress' Women's League called for the courts to deny bail to Pistorius to show the government was serious about stopping gender-based violence.

"Pistorius must be treated like any other person accused of such crimes and no special circumstances should be considered based on his celebrity status," the League said.

Pistorius is being held in a Pretoria police station until his bail hearing resumes on Tuesday. His family said on Saturday Pistorius was numb with grief and shock, and a pastor who visited him on Sunday said he was still distraught.

"The Holy Spirit gave me an order that this is now the chance to go pray with Oscar," pastor AJ Wilson told Reuters Television outside the police station.

"The (police) colonel told him that I have come to pray with him. He just cried and we all cried together."

Stricken Carnival cruise ship nears Mobile, Alabama

As the damaged Carnival cruise ship limped towards the Alabama coast, passengers talked about the overwhelming stench and described the trip as hellish.

Reeking of raw sewage, a crippled cruise ship carrying more than 4,200 people was limping into Mobile, Alabama, on Thursday as passengers awaited the end of a vacation voyage some described as hellish.

The Carnival Triumph was being towed into port by tugboats as the drama played out live on U.S. cable news stations, creating another public relations nightmare for cruise giant Carnival Corp. Last year, its Costa Concordia luxury ship grounded off the coast of Italy, with 32 people killed.

Passengers described an overpowering stench on parts of the ship four days after an engine room fire knocked out power and plumbing across most of the 893-foot (272-metre) vessel and left it adrift in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship, which went into service in 1999, was on a four-day cruise and on its way back from a stop in Cozumel, Mexico.

After the mishap, toilets and drainpipes overflowed, soaking many cabins and interior passages in sewage and turning the vessel into what some have described as a giant Petri dish.

"The thing I'm looking forward to most is having a working toilet and not having to breathe in the smell of fecal matter," said Jacob Combs, an Austin, Texas-based sales executive with a healthcare and hospice company.

Combs, 30, who said he had been traveling with friends and family on the Triumph, had nothing but praise for its crew members, saying they had gone through "hell" cleaning up after some of the passengers on the sea cruise.

"Just imagine the filth," Combs told Reuters. "People were doing crazy things and going to the bathroom in sinks and showers. It was inhuman. The stewards would go in and clean it all up. They were constantly cleaning," he said.

Terry Thornton, a Carnival Cruise Lines senior vice president, told reporters in Mobile that additional provisions were laid in on Wednesday and the ship was now "in excellent shape."

Passenger Donna Gutzman said those aboard the ship were treated to steak and lobster for lunch on Thursday afternoon.

"Our basic needs are being met. For the most part, they are making us happy," Gutzman told CNN.

The ship was expected to arrive in port around 10 p.m. CST (0400 GMT Friday), Carnival said. A senior Carnival official said it could take up to five hours to remove all the passengers from the ship, which has only one functioning elevator.

More than 100 buses were lined up waiting to drive some passengers the 490 miles (790 km) back to Galveston, Texas, while other passengers had elected to stay overnight in hotels in Mobile before flying home, Carnival said.

The ship is negotiating a narrow channel to reach Mobile, and officials said it would be the largest cruise liner ever to dock in the port.

Operated by Carnival Cruise Lines, the flagship brand of Carnival Corp , the ship left Galveston a week ago carrying 3,143 passengers and 1,086 crew. It was supposed to return there on Monday.

Alabama bars arrested players from campus

TUSCULOOSA, Ala. (AP) ? The University of Alabama has barred three football players from campus after their arrest on robbery charges.

University spokeswoman Deborah Lane said Friday the players are suspended from school pending a judicial review expected to be done by late next week.

Eddie Williams, Tyler Hayes and D.J. Pettway have been charged in separate robberies of two students on campus early Monday morning.

Court records show Williams and Hayes have admitted to the crimes.

All three players were indefinitely suspended from the football team. Teammate Brent Calloway, also suspended indefinitely, is charged with fraudulent use of a credit card for using a debit card stolen from one of the students. He isn't barred from campus.

Williams' attorney has asked a judge to let the player return home to Panama City, Fla.
